Match the business to its registration
Ask for the exact business name and authorisation details of the operator that will collect. Check that those details match the information provided, using SEPA’s current public-register guidance. A number quoted in an advertisement may relate to another business or require further checking. Do not assume an association with a network proves the individual collector’s authorisation.
Ask practical questions about the job
A provider should be able to explain the waste it has agreed to collect, how it will be handled and what records apply. Send the postcode and material description so its answer relates to your load. Unidentified chemicals, suspect asbestos and other specialist material should not be accepted as ordinary mixed rubbish without assessment.
Keep the agreed details together
Save the written quote, contact information and collection details in one place. If a different operator is proposed before the job, ask for its identity and relevant authorisation too. Use the same checks whether booking by telephone, message or a website form. Current regulatory details should be verified through official SEPA information rather than an old screenshot or badge.
