Shop Clearance without the heavy lifting
Retail stock, displays and shop contents removed for refits or handovers. We assess access before arrival and make sure the quote fits the items shown.
Paint, chemicals, asbestos, gas cylinders, clinical waste and other special waste need to be declared before booking. We will confirm whether we can collect them or arrange a qualified partner.
Shop clearance for refits, closures and lease handovers
Retail clearances often combine unwanted stock, display units, loose counters, packaging and staff-room contents. The Waste Removal Company helps you define which items are leaving and which belong to a landlord, supplier or new tenant. Mark retained stock and fixtures before the collection team arrives.
A shop closure differs from a refit in a trading store. Closure work can be planned around a full inventory and final inspection. A trading shop needs clear customer routes, a protected work area and a collection window agreed with the manager. Tell us which situation applies when requesting a quote.
- Loose displays, shelving and counters by agreement
- Backroom stock and packaging approved for disposal
- Office and staff-room furniture
- Separate assessment for connected equipment and fixed fittings
Retail waste removal around your loading window
High-street premises, shopping centres and retail parks have different access rules. Confirm the service entrance, loading bay, permitted collection times and any booking system with the property manager. An available parking space does not automatically provide permission to load from it.
For upper-floor premises, include the goods lift dimensions and any lift-booking requirements. Photographs of the sales floor alone will not show the carry distance through corridors or stockrooms. We use these details to plan labour and avoid blocking customers, neighbouring units or emergency exits.
Separate a shop clearance from a retail strip-out
Removing loose contents does not include pulling out fixed partitions, ceilings, electrical displays or fitted kitchens. If a refit needs those removed, request a separate soft strip-out assessment and provide the landlord’s agreed scope. Connected equipment must be made safe before removal.
For retail waste collection, list electrical items, lighting, refrigeration and any chemical products separately. Keep confidential customer records and data-bearing devices out of mixed stock. The quote should show the agreed clearance, access arrangements, exclusions and any completion photographs needed for handover.

Shop Clearance FAQs
Still unsure? Send photos and the postcode. We will tell you what we need before giving a quote.
Can a shop collection take place outside opening hours?+
Ask for your preferred collection window. Availability and any property-manager restrictions must be confirmed before booking.
Do you remove fixtures as well as shop stock?+
Loose fixtures can be assessed with the contents. Fixed, wired or plumbed fittings need an agreed strip-out scope and suitable isolation.
Can you clear a unit in a shopping centre?+
Provide the centre’s contractor rules, loading access, lift details and collection booking requirements so the job can be assessed.
Will everything be recycled?+
Reuse and recycling depend on condition, material and available facilities. We do not promise a fixed recycling rate for mixed retail waste.
Can I keep selected display units?+
Yes. Label retained items and provide a clear disposal list. Include ownership checks for leased tills, refrigeration and supplier displays.
