Soft Strip-Out without the heavy lifting
Assessed non-structural interior removal and refurbishment waste clearance. We assess access before arrival and make sure the quote fits the items shown.
Paint, chemicals, asbestos, gas cylinders, clinical waste and other special waste need to be declared before booking. We will confirm whether we can collect them or arrange a qualified partner.
Soft strip-out before refurbishment
Soft strip-out prepares an interior for refurbishment by removing agreed non-structural elements. It can involve floor finishes, loose and fitted furniture, selected partitions and other internal fittings after the building and scope have been assessed. It does not mean removing anything that appears to be in the way.
The Waste Removal Company accepts enquiries for planned strip-out work and the resulting waste removal. Send the property address, photographs and a written list of proposed removals. Larger or more complex work needs a site assessment so responsibilities, access and specialist requirements are understood before a price is agreed.
- Defined interior removal scope
- Protection of retained surfaces and shared routes
- Waste separation and phased collection planning
- Separate arrangements for specialist work
Building checks before non-structural strip-out
Do not assume a wall is non-load-bearing from its appearance. Structural uncertainty must be resolved by a competent professional before removal is considered. The work plan must also account for fire protection, shared services and anything that needs to remain in use.
Relevant asbestos information and any required refurbishment survey must be reviewed before disturbing the affected fabric. Suspected asbestos is outside a general clearance. Electrical, gas and water services must be identified and made safe by competent trades where needed. These checks set the limits of the job; they are not tasks for an untrained occupant.
Strip-out waste removal and handover
Keep plasterboard, electrical waste, metals and other materials separate where the collection plan requires it. A mixed pile can make treatment more difficult and conceal items that need a special route. We agree where waste can be held and how it will leave the building without blocking access.
The quote should identify the rooms, fittings, exclusions, service isolations, waste arrangements and finish expected at handover. A cleared interior is not automatically ready for occupation or the next trade. Record any remaining work and arrange the final inspection with the person responsible for the refurbishment.

Soft Strip-Out FAQs
Still unsure? Send photos and the postcode. We will tell you what we need before giving a quote.
Is soft strip-out the same as demolition?+
Soft strip-out concerns a defined interior scope. Structural demolition is a separate activity and is not included in a general strip-out quote.
Can you tell from a photograph whether a wall can be removed?+
No. Structural and service checks may require competent professionals and a site assessment before any removal is agreed.
What happens if asbestos is suspected?+
Work affecting the material must stop until it is assessed and the correct specialist arrangements are made. Do not disturb, cut or bag it as ordinary waste.
Are electrical and plumbing disconnections included?+
Only when expressly scoped with the appropriate competent trade. A waste collection booking does not include disconnecting live services.
What should I send for a strip-out quotation?+
Send plans or room photographs, the removal list, retained items, access details, available surveys and your refurbishment schedule.
