Carpet Removal without the heavy lifting
Carpet uplift, underlay and old flooring disposal by agreement. We assess access before arrival and make sure the quote fits the items shown.
Paint, chemicals, asbestos, gas cylinders, clinical waste and other special waste need to be declared before booking. We will confirm whether we can collect them or arrange a qualified partner.
Carpet removal, underlay and flooring waste
Replacing flooring creates more waste than a few rolled carpets. Underlay, gripper strips, offcuts and packaging can all need collection. The Waste Removal Company can assess an uplift-and-removal job or collect carpet that a fitter has already lifted. Make that distinction clear when asking for a quote.
Tell us the room sizes, number of stairs, floor level and where the old flooring is stored. Carpet tiles, foam-backed carpet and material affected by contamination may need different handling. Photographs of both the flooring and its backing help us ask the right questions before agreeing a collection.
- Domestic carpets and underlay by agreement
- Carpet tiles from offices and retail premises
- Fitter-prepared rolls and bagged offcuts
- Gripper strips and associated waste if included in the quote
Carpet uplift with careful access planning
An empty room is easier to assess than one full of furniture. If beds, wardrobes or desks need moving, include that work in the request. Check whether the new flooring fitter expects a bare room, lifted underlay or removal of grippers; these are different scopes and should not be left to guesswork.
We assess awkward stairs, narrow doors and shared closes before collection. Customers should not lift heavy rolls alone or carry exposed gripper strips through communal areas. Leave the preparation method to the agreed plan, especially where sharp fixings or unknown materials are involved.
Carpet disposal prices and limits
The price depends on the floor area, whether uplift is needed, the type and condition of the flooring, furniture movements and access. A collection of prepared rolls is different from removing stuck-down carpet across several rooms. Let us know whether the carpet is wet, heavily soiled or affected by pests before booking.
Carpet removal does not automatically include subfloor repair, adhesive grinding, replacement flooring or treatment of hazardous materials. Older flooring layers and adhesives may need assessment before disturbance. Where reuse or recycling is possible, the route depends on material, condition and facility acceptance rather than a blanket promise.

Carpet Removal FAQs
Still unsure? Send photos and the postcode. We will tell you what we need before giving a quote.
Do I need to lift the carpet first?+
No, but say whether you need carpet uplift and disposal or collection of flooring already lifted. The quote must include the labour you need.
Can you take underlay and gripper strips?+
These can be included by agreement. Tell us the quantities and whether the strips are still fixed so safe handling can be planned.
Do you remove glued carpet tiles?+
We assess the flooring and subfloor first. Adhesive removal and surface preparation are separate from collecting loose tiles.
Can you collect carpet from an upstairs flat?+
Send the floor level, stair or lift details and photographs of the route. Labour and access will be included in the assessment.
Can every old carpet be recycled?+
No. Fibre type, backing, contamination and local treatment options determine the suitable route. Ask what is available for your actual material.
